Today, at PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, the sea trials of the modernised TrB 643 ORP Mamry minesweeper began. The vessel underwent a thorough modernisation including comprehensive maintenance of the hull and superstructure and the replacement of key equipment and ship systems.
As part of the work, modern MTU 8V2000M72 main engines with a power output of up to 608KW were installed, along with the drive system and auxiliary mechanisms. The engine control room was also modernised, and the power generators, navigation and communication systems were replaced.
The upgrade significantly increases the efficiency of the vessel, improves the working conditions for the crew and reduces operating costs. ORP Mamry, like other minesweepers of project 207 (the largest series of ships in the history of the Polish Navy), uses advanced technologies to minimise the magnetic field, which is crucial in anti-mine operations.
The highest priority for the Shipyard is the timely implementation of projects for the Polish Navy and ensuring quality, on which the reliability and safety of our sailors’ operations depend – emphasises Marcin Ryngwelski, President of PGZ Stocznia Wojenna.
