A meeting was held at Gdansk Tech, which is the aftermath of the framework cooperation agreement signed between PGZ Stocznia Wojenna and Gdansk Tech. Paweł Lulewicz, president of PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, and Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of GT , discussed specific orders that can be carried out by specialists of GT’s Center for Security and Defense Technology.

Gdansk Tech has been cooperating with the Polish Navy and the Polish Armaments Group for many years for the benefit of the Polish defense industry. In July, a framework agreement was signed between GT and PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, which is another step in improving cooperation in the implementation of projects for the Polish Navy. Meanwhile, a meeting was held at GT on August 8 to discuss the details of the scope of this cooperation.

– The agreement provides the shipyard with seamless access to advanced systems and equipment offered by CSDT, such as hydroacoustics, passive ship protection and sonar systems. They are already very important for our activities for the Polish Navy, and their importance will grow with almost every new project – be it modernization or construction of new vessels,” stressed Paweł Lulewicz, president of PGZ Stocznia Wojenna.

– Gdansk Tech is very keen on actively supporting the development of the Polish defense industry. The agreement we have signed strengthens our cooperation with partners in this area and will certainly increase its effectiveness. Today we have already discussed specific orders that our specialists from the Center for Security and Defense Technology will be able to carry out as part of orders based on the framework agreement,” said Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdansk University of Technology.

At present, PGZ Stocznia Wojenna is carrying out a number of projects in the field of shipbuilding, overhaul, servicing and repair. In July 2021, a contract was signed for the delivery of three frigates for the Polish Navy (“Miecznik” program). Not long ago, on June 24, a contract was signed for the main and docking repairs of three Project 207 minesweepers – ORP Necko, ORP Nakło and ORP Mamry.

– Given the close and long-standing cooperation between PGZ Stocznia Wojenna and Gdansk Tech, the concluded agreement will certainly facilitate the execution of services and deliveries related to the contracts executed by our partner,” added Paweł Zariczny, Director of  CSDT.
