The Chemical Laboratory has been operating at PGZ Naval Shipyard for several decades now. We specialize in testing petroleum products used on every ship we service, such as lubricating, hydraulic, gear and propulsion oils. Analysis of these products is now a key factor in condition monitoring for most of marine equipment. Main and auxiliary engines, generating sets, compressors, anchor winches, all hydraulic equipment… it is a long list of ship and vessel components condition of which can be accurately tested right here in the laboratory. It is the results obtained on complex, very precise devices from our laboratory that often determine the scope and course of projects we run in our shipyard.

Our analyses contribute to improved equipment performance and longevity. They also help to reduce operating costs and avoid costly repairs and associated downtime. In our laboratory, we test oils and lubricants from almost all equipment on board vessels.

The Chemical Laboratory of PGZ Naval Shipyard is accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation under the number AB 1772 confirming the implementation of the Management System according to PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 – General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. Detailed information and the scope of the Accreditation can be found on the PCA website in this link.
